Science -
In chapter 3, students are studying how cells use the molecules delivered from the body’s systems to release the energy needed for the body to function. This week we will introduce cellular respiration, the chemical reaction that releases energy in the cells including a fun chemical reaction experiment on Monday.
If you bare curious about what students have worked on this unit, ask your student to show you the Metabolism Sim that we have used to run many tests. Last week we used the sim to come to the conclusion that cells need glucose & oxygen in order to release energy, but not amino acids.
Social Studies -
We have started Chapter 9 - Daily Life in Ancient Egypt, where we will learn about the social status of different jobs in Ancient Egypt. This will also allow us to learn about mummification, and the religion of ancient Egyptians.
