About Mr. Towe
My name is Kristofer Towe, and I am in my 4th year teaching at Cherokee Heights. I relocated to Madison in 2017 from Portland, OR.
I got my start teaching music lessons at Ethos Music Center in Portland, OR where I taught drums, percussion and rock band students of diverse backgrounds from across the Portland metro region. My love of teaching eventually lead me to pursue my Masters of Teaching from Concordia University in Portland in 2010.
Before moving to Madison, I taught a combined 5th/6th grade classroom at a project based charter school called the Molalla River Academy in Molalla, OR.
In my spare time I still love playing music with friends in different bands, playing hockey , riding my bike on scenic back roads and getting out to go hiking. I try to make it home to Montana each summer to spend time with family, and enjoy the stars. Most importantly, I love spending time with my son, who started 1st grade this year.
My goal as a teacher is to make learning creative and meaningful. I look forward to bringing experience, compassion, enthusiasm, and my love for new learning to make this a great year for the 6th graders at Cherokee Heights!
