Alders East and West finished our Egypt Unit this week by hosting our Egyptian Museum. 5th Graders presented displays from their Egyptian Nomes with examples of ceremonial masks, Egyptian Myth temple art work and hymns, hieroglyphs, and ancient Egyptian social classes. 6th graders presented their research projects which covered various topics like pyramid construction, hieratic writing, Egyptian gods, famous pharaohs, and mummification. If you didn't have a chance to come and visit, we'll be displaying examples of their artifacts during the MRA Showcase later this month.
Students did an excellent job, they were able to answer questions and display their depth of knowledge, and many visitors commented on how wished they had more time to visit all the exhibits. We celebrated afterwards with some Egyptian snacks - hummus, pita, feta & olives!.
