Please email me at: [email protected]

Language Arts -
This week we'll continue to examine different "controversial topics," and practice identifying issue, taking a side, writing a claim, and using evidence from an article about the topic to create effective argumentative paragraphs using our MELCon writing structure.
MELCon stands for:
M - Main Idea
E - Evidence
L - Link
Con - Conclusion
MELCon is a writing formula for structuring an effective argument.
During this unit you will researching a topic of your choice in order to gain convincing evidence to support your claim. Topics in the past have included dress codes or use of technology at school, animal testing, zoos, and kneeling during the national anthem. You will take a side on an issue, and use evidence to support your position.
