Here's what we're working on this week:
Make sure you are checking Infinite Campus, and catching up any missing assignments. If you are sick, or miss days because of a trip there may still be assignments due that need to be caught up.
Language Arts -
All of our texts so far this Quarter have shared themes dealing with families and how they influence us and our identity. Each of our families is different, but each of our families have traditions that are handed down, and influence who we are. Last week we brainstormed details about one of our own family traditions. This week you will interview a classmate and gather information their family tradition so you can write a descriptive 3-paragraph essay.
Reading Groups-
Monday, Wednesday & Friday - Novel studies - complete the Chapter Summary, Important Events & Reactions in your Novel Study Packets. Novel study packets are due Friday for all completed chapters.
Tuesday & Thursday - Achieve3000 - complete 5 step process on at least 2 articles & score at least 75% on Activity.
Social Studies -
We're studying Chapter 10 - The Kingdom of Kush. Kush was the southern Neighbor of Egypt. Egypt and Kush had a complicated relationship, sometimes they got along and sometimes they fought. For this chapter we're going to trying a different style of note taking, Cornell Notes. Rather than answering questions, we'll be close reading and summarizing important ideas.
